Swiggy Dineout, India’s leading on-demand dining-out platform, in collaboration with Mumbai Foodie, announces the launch of Supper Clubs of India which is an experiential dining series celebrating the diverse traditions of regional Indian cuisine.
Starting this October, food enthusiasts in Mumbai can embark on a gastronomic adventure, experiencing 10 curated dinners over the next six months, featuring regional community-style meals by some of the country’s most talented home chefs.
It goes beyond the typical dining experience. It brings the intimate supper club tradition—where home chefs create meals in small, unconventional spaces—into an accessible format. Unlike other dining experiences, it will showcase different regional cuisines, taking guests on a diverse exploration, from the royal feasts of Kashmir and Malwa to the earthy flavours of Khasi cuisine. For barbecue lovers, one evening will be dedicated to those smoky, flame-grilled delights. Every dinner is designed to provide a platform for home chefs to share their personal stories while creating a space where diners can engage directly with the chefs. This hands-on interaction transforms the meal into a shared cultural experience, deepening the connection between the food and its origins.
As part of the opening edition, attendees will savour rare dishes like Guchi Yakhni and Nadur Monj in a Kashmiri feast by chef Jasleen Marwah at Veranda – Bandra on October 24, 2024, at 8pm. Key event details are that each dinner will feature a curated menu reflecting the essence of regional Indian dishes, offering a rare opportunity to explore lesser-known flavours.
Culinary experts such as Marwah, first runner up of Masterchef Season 8–Nambie Jessica Marak, and chef Anuradha from Charoli are few of the chefs leading these dinners.
In partnership with NIC Ice Creams, each dinner will include specially crafted ice cream flavors exclusively for the event, enhancing the culinary adventure with a sweet finale. With only 30-35 guests per event, each dinner promises an intimate setting were food and conversation flow effortlessly.
Beyond the food, attendees will be part of engaging discussions on the cultural significance of the dishes. The guests will also interact with the chefs behind the dishes, gaining insights into the origins and techniques of the cuisines. The first of these dinners will kick off in Mumbai on October 24, with additional events scheduled every two-three week at select premium restaurants across the city. The start time for each event varies from 7:30pm – 8pm.
