Romaco, MG2 host powder meet in Bologna; Over 100 specialists gather

fiogf49gjkf0d Bologna hosted a two-day powder conference co-organised by Romaco and MG2 recently. The event, at which over a hundred powder specialists gathered, featured over 20 presentations, at which technologies for manufacturing, processing and dosing pharmaceutical powders were discussed. There were a number of machine demonstrations.
While Romaco showcased its microdosing machines, tablet presses and granulation and coating systems, MG2 showcased its capsule fillers. “The Romaco and MG2 portfolios match each other almost perfectly,” said Nicola Magriotis, managing director, sales, Romaco S r l, Bologna.
“When it comes to processing pharmaceutical powders, both our companies are proven experts in their respective fields. The powder conference was the ideal platform to illustrate to pharmaceutical industry representatives where we stand, how we fit together and where we are stronger together,” he added.
“It is not usual for two independent companies like Romaco and MG2 to organise such an important event together. This was possible thanks to the strong complementarity of our portfolios and a shared approach to customers, focused on innovation, quality and reliability of services,” emphasised Manuela Gamberini, sales manager, MG2.
Romaco’s powder portfolio
Romaco Macofar is a supplier of solutions for aseptic and non-aseptic dosing of pharmaceutical powders and an established player in the global pharmaceutical markets since the seventies.
The Romaco Macofar powder portfolio goes hand in hand with Romaco Kilian tableting solutions as well as Romaco Innojet’s expertise in the granulation and coating of pharmaceutical solids.
The part of the event which took place at Romaco was divided between a theoretical examination of the various technologies for processing pharmaceutical powders and a number of practical trials and demonstrations.
The presentation of the Macofar MicroMaxX 18 aseptic powder filling machine in the new cleanroom at Romaco’s Bologna facility was undoubtedly one of the high points.
Since the installation of the GMP-compliant cleanroom environment, real products can now be tested there for the first time under real production conditions.
This is an enormous advantage when preparing a machine for use by the customer or conducting test series.
Capsule filling solutions from MG2
The conference attendees were also treated to an insight into MG2’s new cleanrooms.
The controlled environment is optimally suited for analysing the specific properties of pharmaceutical powders.
The capsule filling process can thus be adapted to the specific requirements of each product.
This traditional manufacturer of capsule fillers is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary in 2016.
Not surprisingly, MG2’s presentations were all about capsules – from production through filling to weighing and quality controls.
