Handpickd forays into everyday kitchen staples

Handpickd has announced it is expanding beyond fresh produce into daily kitchen staples. The platform, built for urban consumers who care about clean eating, is scaling its supply chain to deliver freshly prepared, additive-free fresh food straight to homes.

The company's portfolio now includes made-to-order milled atta (flour), freshly pounded spices, pressed oils, farm dairy, small-batch spreads, fresh flowers, and ready-to-cook essentials. It expects its freshly milled flour and hand-pounded spices to become major growth drivers over the coming year, building on the base it has already established in fresh produce.

Most modern food distribution leans on chemical preservatives, additives, and long warehouse storage cycles built to survive long-distance transport and supermarket shelves. It is trying something different. Its zero-inventory model is built around speed and local sourcing, connecting households directly to preparation and harvest so the food keeps its natural nutrition and flavour.

Anant Goel, founder & CEO of Handpickd, said, “There are two sides to food being modified to last long. Something bad added to it. Or something good taken out. Product companies around the globe have been over investing in it for decades so they can make it centrally and distribute globally. Your local 'halwai' doesn't know that science. Neither does your local 'atta chakki'. The problem there is adulteration of raw material. Handpickd is tackling both in one go - Pure raw material, prepared clean and delivered fresh. Fresh food items that will go bad when they are supposed to. Because fresh is science-less.”
