As families across India observe the holy month of Shravan, food continues to remain an important part of the traditions followed during this period. Mother’s Recipe Aloo Sago Papad, made with potato, Sabudana and Sendha Namak, fits well into the fasting meals prepared in many homes during the month.
Shravan is a time when several households follow Satvik food practices and choose ingredients that are traditionally consumed during fasting. Sabudana and potato are commonly used in vrat recipes across the country. The Aloo Papad and Sago Papad offers another way to enjoy these familiar ingredients as part of a Shravan meal.
Sanjana Desai, executive director, Mother’s Recipe, said, “Food has always been closely connected with the way we observe our festivals and traditions. During Shravan, families have their own fasting practices and recipes that have been followed over the years. Sabudana and potato are familiar ingredients during this period, and our Aloo and Sago Papads fit naturally into these meals while also being easy to prepare.”
