The Filter Coffee , one of Bengaluru's South Indian casual dining brands, has opened its first airport outlet at Terminal 1 of Kempegowda International Bengaluru Airport on September 29, through a partnership with Travel Food Services. Located near Gate 39, the new outlet marks the brand's first move beyond Bengaluru's neighbourhoods, expanding its footprint to a total of 11 outlets and takes its signature coffee and South Indian food into one of the city's key travel hubs.
Designed for the pace and convenience of airport travel, the compact format brings its familiar proposition into a quick service environment, while retaining an open seating area for travellers with more time before their flight. The format has been developed to balance speed, accessibility and the brand's signature South Indian experience.
At the heart of the menu is its signature brew, served exactly as it's made across the brand's Bengaluru restaurants, along with vegan versions crafted with oats, almond and soya milk for travellers looking for lighter alternatives. The food menu leans into the brand's idli menu, from classic steamed idlis to benne and podi varieties, alongside vadas, rava upma, and venn pongal for those looking for a quick, comforting breakfast. For travellers with a bit more time, the counter also serves lunch staples like veg biryani, curd rice, and puliyogare. To make ordering simpler for those short on time, the menu also features three exclusive combos, like TFC Classic Breakfast, the TFC All-Day Tiffin Feast, and the TFC Biryani Meal each pairing a main dish with a beverage or dessert for a complete, ready-to-go meal, rounding out a menu built to feel authentically South Indian, even in a fast-paced airport setting.
Sankrit Iyer, co-founder, The Filter Coffee, said, "We've always believed the airport was a big opportunity for us to bring The Filter Coffee to a much wider audience. I've had a long association with the airport through my earlier work, and it's been a personal dream of mine to see our brand find a home here. So we're genuinely excited to partner with Travel Food Services and take our first step into the airport with this new airport launch."
Beyond the business opportunity, the airport launch also carries a deeper meaning for the brand, tied closely to the city it has called home since day one. This is a chance to introduce Bengaluru's own coffee culture to a much wider audience passing through the city.
Avinit Bagri, co-founder, The Filter Coffee, said, "For us, this is also about honouring the city and the heritage that has shaped our brand along the way. Bengaluru has always been at the centre of our journey, and the airport now gives us a wonderful platform to carry a bit of that Bengaluru experience to travellers coming in from across India and the world. We're excited to see where this partnership with Travel Food Services takes us, and hope it's the first of many steps towards a much bigger presence at the airport."
