California Almonds debuts at Aahar international food and hospitality fair

To promote consumption of almonds and enhance the California almond industry in India, the Almond Board of California participated in Aahar 2023. Almond Board of California set up a booth at FIFI Pavilion to discuss the Board’s ongoing commitment to the Indian market in conjunction with Aahar, the flagship B2B event organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the premier trade promotion body of the Government of India, that concluded at Pragati Maidan recently.

The almond experts present at the booth, Harbinder Maan, associate director, trade marketing and stewardship, and Guangwei Huang, associate director, food research & technology, Almond Board of California, discussed a range of topics including flavour inspiration, an overview of almond forms, and ways to maximise usage, along with providing samples in growing snack categories. The Almond Board of California booth witnessed a large attendance of many food manufacturers, importers, new brands, supply chain professionals and research and development food professionals at Aahar 2023.

Speaking about the success of Aahar 2023, Maan said, “It has been an enriching experience interacting with the food manufacturers and other stakeholders at Aahar. We presented California almonds as a versatile, flavourful and functional ingredient - we provided samples of almond cookies and almond health bars to the stakeholders who met us at the booth.”

Huang added, “Aahar provided an opportunity for us to educate on various areas such as almond varieties, standards and grades, best practices for storage and their handling. India is an important market for the Board and we wanted to enhance consumers’ experience whenever they consume products which contain almonds.”
