Mukherjee appointed brand head at Impresario group’s Smoke House Deli

Chef Jaydeep Mukherjee has been appointed brand head at Impresario Entertainment and Hospitality’s Smoke House Deli, which has a significant presence on the Indian culinary scene, in a bid to revive and refresh the offering to cater to the ever-changing palette of the discerning Indian foodie.

He has over two decades of experience in hospitality across branding and conceptualising restaurants, and his vision, in his new assignment, is to transform the restaurant as the first choice in the minds of people when it comes to Western dining in the country.

Besides setting new benchmarks, Mukherjee wants the restaurant to be known for comfort food, sans frills, and service that is warm and friendly. Smoke House Deli has always been renowned for offering food that is prepared using premium local produce and simple yet elegant procedures and techniques.

This unique selling proposition (USP) will be further driven through his expertise in operations and creating landmark hospitality brands. On joining India’s leading hospitality company, he said, “I have, since long, wished to work with Riyaaz Amlani, the man who is changing how modern India drinks and dines.”

“When the opportunity arose, I just couldn’t refuse. While it isn’t a new project, the opportunity to re-engineer an existing and much-loved brand and take it up many notches higher is something that really excites me,” Mukherjee said. Smoke House Deli has a national footprint, with a presence in nine locations across the country.

For the chef, Smoke House Deli is an elegant neighbourhood diner. “The comfortable environs are homely and the food is world-class. It is a place one drops by to chill over a cup of coffee or a drink or dine with family, friends or clients,” he added. Mukherjee’s next objective is to enhance the experience Smoke House Deli provides its patrons.
