Varghese appointed as sales director of Renaissance Race Course Hotel

Renaissance Race Course Hotel has appointed Jen Varghese as the director of sales and marketing. 

With an experience of 16 years in the hospitality sector, he has expertise in the areas of sales, business development, strategic planning, and team management, after having worked for key brands in the hospitality industry.

Varghese’s passion for the industry has seen him rise rapidly through several positions within the hospitality industry, with responsibilities spread across a gamut of functions.
He possesses an intuitive understanding of brand management, and with his outstanding communication and leadership skills, he is able to effectively manage relationships with clients and stakeholders and lead cross-cultural teams. 

At Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel, Varghese’s core responsibilities will include maximising hotel revenues through result-oriented sales and marketing strategies, exploring business opportunities through events.

Prior to joining Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel, he was associated with Le Meridien Bangalore for over three years as director of sales and marketing.

After completing his hotel management course, Varghese started his career as banquet sales office executive and food and beverage supervisor at Taj West End Hotel for three years. 

He has been heading sales teams for various hotels since 2007, starting with The Park Hotel Bangalore in the capacity of associate director of sales.

Varghese also held sales head positions with key hospitality players such as The Lalit Hotel, Bangalore, The Leela Bangalore, Moevenpick Hotel and Spa, Bangalore and Le Meridien Bangalore.

He has an MBA degree from R V S College, Coimbatore (Bhartiyar University).

“Varghese will be a great addition in developing and sustaining the growth of the hotel's revenue and market share in this highly competitive city,” stated a communication from the hotel.
