Johnson Diversey to launch its foodsafety consultancy service in India

JohnsonDiversey, the $3 billion US major in the area of health and hygiene products and services, through its Indian subsidiary, is launching the food safety consultancy service in India. The company - JohnsonDiversey India (P) Limited, with this service, would introduce Safekey, a comprehensive food safety portfolio, which includes food safety solutions ranging from risk management consulting to essential cleaning and sanitation chemicals.
Revealing the new business proposal of the company in India, T Balakrishnan, managing director (India), and Regional Director (South Asia), told Food & Beverage News that the new service would address details of every aspect of planning, training and usage of the internationally accepted food safety products and processes. "With the tailor made programmes for sectors like food and beverage manufacturers, hotels, restaurants, corporates, contract cleaners, in-flight kitchens etc., we can help our clients manage food safety, productivity and keep costs controlled and predictable," said Balakrishnan.
The food safety consultancy portfolio of JohnsonDiversey India comprises mainly three parts, which include food safety training, food safety audits and consulting and support services. The food safety training helps transform educational skills into application skill by providing required training to all food personnel from management to operational level to develop, implement and manage food safety operations in a result-oriented manner. This four-tier training programme includes basic food safety training, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) implementation training and internal auditors training for all food service, food catering, storage, processing, manufacturing sectors.
Similarly, the food safety audit service caters to regular verification of the required food safety practices to assess ongoing compliances, suitability and effectiveness. The consulting and support service would assist food business in developing the required food safety practices and policies like HACCP, food safety manuals, document and record control procedures, standard sanitary operational procedures, internal auditing protocols and recording formats etc., through process based approach, Balakrishnan added.
JohnsonDiversey India, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the JohnsonDiversey Inc USA, is currently a Rs 50-crore company with more than 100 products already launched in the health and hygiene market in India. The company has currently a product manufacturing facility in Daman in India.
