NACIN hosts training session on Food Import Clearance System

The National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) hosted a training session for its officials on Food Import Clearance System in Lucknow recently.

The officials called it an integral part of CBIC’s (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs) Induction Training Program for Inspectors, while the session was specifically on Food Import Clearance training of Authorised Officers with the collaboration of FSSAI for Trainee Inspectors at NACIN, Lucknow.

Manvesh Kumar, Director (Import) and Dr Sujata Singh, AD (Import), FSSAI, New Delhi, visited the Trainee Inspectors.

According to FSSAI, it was under the new initiative of integrating FSSAI's training into CBIC's induction training program for Customs Officers, FSSAI conducted training for newly-recruited Inspectors at NACIN, Lucknow, wherein FSSAI officials shared key points regarding safety of imported foods & Food Import Clearance System.

The training session covered the FSS Act, import regulations, the three-tier Import Clearance System and the role of Customs Officers as Authorised Officers by FSSAI. Around 50 participants from the states of UP and Uttarakhand attended the training.
