CLFMA’s Poultry Seminar 2025 explores future challenges and growth strategies

The Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association (CLFMA) of India successfully hosted Poultry Seminar 2025 on March 6, 2025, at The Park Hotel, Kolkata. As part of a nationwide series of regional seminars, this event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss the future of India’s poultry sector under the theme “Poultry Scenario – What Lies Ahead.”
Key Discussions & Insights The seminar addressed pressing industry challenges, including sustainability, feed security, and policy reforms, all crucial for ensuring long-term resilience and growth in the sector.
Sumit Sureka, deputy chairman, CLFMA of India, delivered the welcome address, highlighting poultry’s vital role in India’s food security and agricultural economy. He stressed the need for innovation, diversified feed strategies, and regulatory alignment to navigate rising input costs and supply chain uncertainties.
A dedicated session led by Amit Sachdev and Reece Cannady of the U.S. Grains Council explored global feed stock trends and introduced U.S. sorghum as a cost-effective alternative feed ingredient for the Indian poultry industry.
Dr.Harsh Kumar Shetty, general manager, Venkateshwara Hatcheries, provided a market overview, detailing key challenges and opportunities shaping the poultry sector, from policy gaps to the need for technology adoption.
Expert Panel Discussion Moderated by Divya Kumar Gulati, chairman, CLFMA of India, the panel featured Sameer Agarwal, managing director, Shalimar Group, Madan Mohan Maithy, general secretary, WBPF, Naveen Pasuparthy, president, KPFBA,Neeraj Kumar Srivastava, past chairman, CLFMA of India and Sumit Sureka, deputy chairman, CLFMA of India
The discussion focused on regulatory complexities, market access hurdles, technological disruptions, and climate-resilient poultry practices.
