Cocoatrait launches two micro-batch bean-to-bar chocolate-making kits

Cocoatrait has launched do-it-yourself (DIY) micro-batch bean-to-bar chocolate-making kits in two variants - the Advanced Kit and the Starter Kit. The concept is similar to themicro-batch coffee movement.
The Advanced Kit, which includes added equipment, provides thebasics to make chocolate bars from scratch with standard kitchen equipment, such as a mixer grinder, idli grinder and thermometer.
It includes3kg roasted Indian cacao beans, a 65 per cent dark chocolate bar, a table-top 1kg modified chocolate grinder, a plastic chocolate mould and a step-by-step instruction manual to turn the beans into chocolate using the chocolate grinder and someequipment commonly used at home.
“It costs Rs 23,900, including Goods and Services Tax (GST) and transportation,” said L Nitin Chordia, certified chocolate taster and founder, Cocoatrait.
TheStarter Kitincludes 1kg roasted Indian cacao beans, a 65 per cent dark chocolate bar, a plastic chocolate mould and a step-by-step instruction manual to turn the beans into chocolate using some equipment commonly used at home. It is priced at Rs 7,500, including GST and transportation.
“These kits are a chocolate lover’s delight, and also make for an amazing and memorable gift for any occasion, including a person’s 18th birthday. It is also the perfect educational activity and the ideal way to spend an afternoon with your kids,” Chordia added.
