India’s growing prominence in the global poultry sector was showcased at the 17th Poultry India Expo 2025, which concluded in Hyderabad after recording its highest-ever participation. With India ranked 2nd globally in egg production and among the top four in broiler output, the four-day event reflected the sector’s expanding influence on nutrition, rural livelihoods, and national economic growth.

Organised by the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (IPEMA), the expo took place from November 25 to 28 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre under the theme “One Nation, One Expo.” Telangana ministers Ponnam Prabhakar Goud and Tummala Nageswara Rao inaugurated the event, marking a strong state-level commitment to poultry sector development.

This year’s edition broke multiple records, forging alliances with 16 international poultry associations, 40+ national bodies, 18 poultry media platforms, 15 global media organisations, and over 100 digital influencers. These collaborations enhanced India’s global visibility while boosting farmer outreach and promoting newer technologies across the poultry value chain.

The expo hosted 500 plus exhibitors from more than 50 countries, attracted over 50,000 visitors, and spanned 35,000 sq. metres across seven halls. Attendees experienced live demonstrations on cutting-edge innovations in breeding, genetics, hatchery automation, feed milling, ventilation systems, diagnostics, sustainable egg processing, manure management, and green poultry technologies.

Government engagement remained strong throughout. On knowledge day, Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari interacted with industry stakeholders, offering policy direction for sustainable and future-ready sectoral growth. BJP MP Dr. K Laxman praised India’s poultry achievements, noting the Union government's initiatives to promote egg consumption to fight malnutrition and support small farmers through the National Livestock Mission.

At the valedictory ceremony, Poultry India President Uday Singh Bayas expressed gratitude to the Telangana government for its continued support. He recommended easing certain HMDA norms and revising the 40-foot road access rule to enable faster establishment of poultry units. He also noted that electricity subsidies similar to those in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra could help Telangana become India’s leading poultry hub.

With a strong alignment to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the expo empowered farmers, veterinarians, researchers, entrepreneurs and students ushering in a new era of innovation-driven poultry growth for India.
