50 chefs to participate in the 3-day Bakery Business 2024

The highly-anticipated event of the year, Bakery Business 2024, commenced on Wednesday with the grand inauguration done by lighting of lamp followed by ribbon cutting carried out by dignitaries, Pradeep Shetty of Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India, Vishwanath Pandey, president, Food Service Consultant Association of India, and Chef Salil Phadnis, president, Western India Culinary Association.
The co-located events, Hotels Restaurant and Catering Business is in its 12th edition and Bakery Business is in 17th edition. The event highlights the participation of 50 chefs for various demos and competitions held across India. This is the most influential event focused on bakery, pastry and chocolate industries.
Pradeep Gopalan, founder and director, Hospitality First Pvt. Ltd, who is the organiser of the event, said, "We are delighted to announce that there is 40 per cent growth in the event as compared to last year. Also, we are expecting more than 15,000 visitors and have 200 exhibitors. There are already 10,000-plus pre-registered business visitors this year. The event is spread across 1,10,000 sq ft for the year 2024. We are also expecting a huge response for South edition taking place in Hyderabad in the month of June."
The organisers have organised elaborate cooking demos on cakes, pastry, pizza and cookies.
Ruchi Dua, brand manager, Saksham Impex Private Limited, said, "Today, at this event, we are introducing newly imported stagioni pizza flour. The product is imported from Italy for the first time in India. This being the second year, we have also organised a pizza making competition. There are around 42 people participating in this event from India and abroad. There is a jury of 5 people who would be tasting and judging the event. The winner of international pizza championship will be announced on the last day of the event. The winner will be sponsored and travel to Italy for the final contest."
One of the regular visitors, Rachita Malani, sales manager, Rachita Masala, said, "This event is a one-stop shop for all bakery related products. One can find all bakery ingredient products under one roof. We are here to explore all the available options. We have been visiting this event since the last 3 years and would like to visit companies with bakery equipments."
The event will be held till November 22, 2024, and promises to continue the tradition of excellence and innovation in the culinary and hospitality sector.
