90 young chefs demonstrate culinary expertise at AHP Hospitality Challenge

fiogf49gjkf0d fiogf49gjkf0d Association of Hospitality Professionals (AHP) had recently organised the third edition of AHP Hospitality Challenge, 2016, for young hospitality professionals from prominent hotels across Delhi & NCR to display their hospitality skills. Among several other programmes, Culinary Challenge gave an opportunity to potential/ budding chefs to illustrate their knowledge and innovations in different types of cuisines. The Culinary Challenge was organised for three days at Delhi Institute of Hotel Management, New Delhi.
Sireesh Saxena, joint secretary, AHP, said, “We are glad to organise the 3rd edition of AHP Hospitality Challenge this year. The chief objective of organising this event every year is to establish, motivate and honour all the young hospitality professionals for their talent. It is a brilliant stage for them to display their individual and combined skills, creative talent while learning and sharing experiences. The AHP Hospitality Challenge, 2016, also saw the participants competing in culinary skills. We were overwhelmed to see such fervour in the young participants and delighted to know that how ardent these young people are to establish themselves successfully in the hospitality industry.”
Around 90 young chefs from 20 prominent hotels used this platform to demonstrate their culinary expertise and their creativity in the Culinary Challenge. The first day of the Culinary Challenge had Biryani Competition, Ornamental Bread Display along with Sweet Sensation Competition. The Biryani Competition presented diverse types of biryanis like Hyderabadi Biryani and Kashmiri Biryani prepared by young chefs and enthralled everyone. The participants of Sweet Sensation had a variety of cakes, puddings and pastries of assorted flavours. The participants of Bread-Making made innumerous types of breads using varied ingredients and pioneering ways to display them before judges.
The second day of the Culinary Challenge comprised North Indian Regional Cuisine, Wedding Cake Competition along with 45 Minutes Challenge. While the third day saw International Cuisine and Dressing of the Cake Competition. Throughout the challenge, young chefs prepared delicacies by paying close attention to the presentation of the dishes and had put immense efforts in the final execution of their hardwork. The judges noted passion and determination of young chefs to bring out their best in the competitions.
“The entire idea of such challenges is to create awareness about this profession and felicitate the achievers in this industry,” he added.
The participants of Culinary Challenge were judged by seasoned jury members like chef Arvind Rai, chef Vaneet Wadhera, chef Suprabhat Roy, chef Abhishek Basu, chef Prem Ram, chef Bharat Alagh, chef Mahendra Kumar Khairiya, chef S V Dua, chef B C Kala, and chef Surinder Kumar. This platform was designed to felicitate the young team at work who put in its best foot forward day in and out for pleasing the guests at the hotels.
