Annapoorna Inter Food 2025, India’s rapidly emerging platform for global food and beverage trade, opened on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, bringing together nearly 150 exhibitors from across India and overseas. Showcasing everything from food ingredients, processing solutions, and packaging innovations to ready-to-eat products and global FMCG trends, the three-day expo promises an immersive experience for buyers, manufacturers, retailers, and policymakers.
While footfalls on Day 1 were slightly lower than expected, organisers remain confident that the numbers will rise significantly on Day 2 and 3 as trade visitors, retailers, HoReCa buyers, and distributors pour in. Exhibitors, many of whom returned after successful previous editions, expressed optimism about business conversations and the quality of inquiries.
The highlight of the opening day was the CEO Roundtable Conference, which witnessed powerful participation from senior leaders of India’s top food companies. In a rare collective forum, CEOs openly discussed the most pressing challenges facing the Indian food industry, including regulatory complexities, delays in product approvals, labelling compliance issues, import hurdles, and the need for faster policy interventions to support innovation and growth.
Senior officials from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), and Invest India were present to listen, respond, and outline pathways for smoother regulatory facilitation.
Addressing the gathering, Preeti Chaudhary, Director, FSSAI Western Region, assured industry leaders that their concerns were being taken seriously.
She emphasised that every issue raised during the roundtable will be examined and that the regulator is committed to constructive, transparent, and solution-driven engagement with the sector. “We will work together to resolve core challenges. The aim is to build a system where the industry grows without compromising consumer safety,” she assured.
Participants lauded this open dialogue as a much-needed step towards strengthening India’s food ecosystem at a time when innovation, exports, and consumer expectations are expanding rapidly.
As Annapoorna Inter Food 2025 continues over the next two days, the event is expected to witness buzzing aisles, business matchmaking, and new product launches, reaffirming its position as a premier platform that connects India’s food industry with global opportunities.
