APFPS to launch incubation centre developed in association with MoFPI

The Andhra Pradesh Food Processing Society will launch a Common Incubation Centre (CIC) at Tirupati IIT on July 13.
The state-of-the-art CIC has been developed in association with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) under the PM Formalisation of the Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme.
The PMFME has released a fund of Rs. 2.60 crore for the CIC aimed at strengthening the value addition in the agriculture sector and helping small entrepreneurs.
MoFPI has approved 76 such Incubation Centres with an outlay of Rs. 205.95 crore in 25 states under the PMFME Scheme.
As per reports, Union Minister, MoFPI, and AP’s Industry Minister will inaugurate the CIC, which will help small enterprises in learning the processes involved in the entire value chain from farm to market.
The centre will also act as a research facility in food technology while in future, collaboration with the private players will also be explored for more exposure of the small entrepreneurs.
