AquaExchange raises $8M to drive technology adoption across global shrimp farming

AquaExchange, an aquaculture technology company focused on modernising global seafood and animal protein supply chains, has raised $8 million in a Series B funding round to accelerate technology-led transformation across aquaculture markets. The round was co-led by Endiya Partners and Factor Analytics, with participation from existing investor Accion Ventures, while Ocean 14 Capital continues to support the company.

Founded by Pavan Kosaraju, Hemasundar Dhavili, Kareem Mohammod and Kiran Bandi, the Vijayawada-headquartered firm is building a full-stack technology ecosystem aimed at improving sustainability, traceability, and productivity across aquaculture and animal protein value chains. Its platform integrates IoT automation, AI and machine learning analytics, real-time farm monitoring, embedded finance solutions, and market linkages to help farmers digitize and optimize operations.

AquaExchange has emerged as a category leader in the sector, becoming the first aquaculture technology company in India to automate more than 25 percent of the country’s shrimp farming acreage. The company’s revenue is projected to reach INR 275 crore in FY26, with its technology division witnessing sixfold growth over the past year.

Currently, the company’s IoT and AI-driven solutions operate across five Indian states and monitor more than 80,000 acres of aquaculture farms globally. Internationally, AquaExchange has expanded its presence to Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, and Madagascar, and has been onboarded as a technology partner by three of the world’s largest shrimp producers.

According to founder Pavan Kosaraju, the funding will help the company strengthen its “farmer-first” approach by expanding technology adoption among small and medium aquaculture farmers and introducing advanced predictive disease monitoring tools.

Beyond farm automation, AquaExchange has also developed embedded finance solutions, enabling farmers to access crop loans and working capital from financial institutions. In collaboration with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, the company has created India’s first shrimp farm risk-scoring framework to support structured credit access.
The new capital will support AquaExchange’s global expansion, strengthen its domestic presence, and help extend its technology platform to additional agri-asset segments in the future.
