Arla Foods appoints Torben Dahl Nyholm, chief financial officer (CFO), and executive vice president (EVP), to its executive board. Torben Dahl Nyholm will succeed the executive board and executive management team (EMT), member and EVP of Arla Foods’ European business, Peter Giørtz-Carlsen, who will take on the role as CEO of Danish DLG Group. The new EVP of the European business and EMT member will be Mark Boot, senior vice president (SVP) of Arla Foods’ business in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
Executive Board member and EVP, Carlsen will be leaving Arla Foods to become CEO of the Danish cooperative DLG Group. CFO and EVP of Finance, Legal, IT and Strategy, Nyholm, will take on the role in the executive board. It is a two-person board and effective from December 1, 2024, it consists of CEO, Peder Tuborgh and CFO and EVP, Nyholm.
Tuborgh said, “I have been working closely with Peter ever since he joined Arla. Over the years, he has delivered above expectations to our farmer owners, and we have delivered strong results under his leadership. Whilst I will miss Peter’s extraordinary dedication and having him by my side, I’m delighted for him personally and pleased that Arla can foster a strong CEO to DLG Group.”
The company’s board of directors has appointed Nyholm to its executive board, Tuborgh said, “I’m pleased that the Board of Directors has appointed Torben Dahl Nyholm, to Arla Foods’ Executive Board. Throughout his career in Arla, Torben has shown himself to be an outstanding leader. His growth mindset and his ability to both innovate and safeguard our cooperative is remarkable.”
Nyholm said, “I’m honoured to be entrusted with a role in Arla’s Executive Board, and I’m excited about the prospect of working even closer with Arla’s Board of Directors to achieve Arla’s ambitions and deliver on our vision.”
Mark Boot will replace Carlsen as EVP of the European business and member of the EMT effective from February 1, 2025, at the latest. Boot joined the company in 2016, and he has a well-rounded track record from Unilever and Royal Friesland Campina. Boot has previously led its business in Southeast Asia, and he is currently holding the position as senior vice president of the commercial business in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
Tuborgh said, “It feels great to welcome Mark to Arla Foods’ Executive Management Team. Mark has done a tremendous job during his years in Arla, and through his career he has shown strong commercial leadership. I’m confident that he will be a great addition to both the EMT and the European business.”
Boot said, “I’m honoured to take on this responsibility. I look forward to strengthening our business even further and to partner up with Arla farmer owners and colleagues across Europe.”
Effective from February 1, 2025, Carlsen will leave the company, and the process of finding Boot’s replacement has been initiated.
