Bakery Business - Newer equipment, efficient tech & innovation
Monday, 18 November, 2024, 08 : 00 AM [IST]
Harcha Bhaskar, Mumbai
Regarded as the national trade fair for bakery, pastry and chocolate industry, the 17th edition of Bakery Business is all set to unveil at Jio World Convention Centre, BKC, Mumbai, on Nov 20, 2024. The event will be held till Nov 22, 2024.

Spread across an area of 1.10 lakh sq ft, it will be by far the biggest edition and the industry's biggest show. The event is backed by 50 plus years of combined team and domain expertise, business visitors from 26 states and UTs and 900 plus national and international exhibiting companies.

The visitors have chosen this bakery and HoReCa platforms, and have strongly lent voice to business assessment of bringing both sectors under one roof to bring investment efficiencies for exhibitors, given the business synergy. The events have played a significant role in the industry transformation.

This is the only exhibition in the Indian market, which covers such a wide range of products for the bakery and pastry industry - from ingredients, machines, technology, packaging equipment to accessories and more. A resounding 94 per cent of esteemed attendees, distinguished by their expertise, have heralded the event as the paramount trade fair tailored precisely to cater to their industry needs. An astonishingly high satisfaction rate of over 98 per cent was achieved amongst visitors who graced the event in 2023, attesting to the event's unmatched calibre.

Pradeep Gopalan, founder, director, Hospitality First India Ltd, said, “From a mere 17 exhibitors in 2006 to close to 200 companies in 2024, the show has come a long way and influenced and changed market perceptions of the way the Indian bakery market has been looked upon.”

Highlights
Besides the increased scale of the show, the event will be presenting master classes by leading cake artists and culinary professionals from across the country aimed at imparting new skills and trendsetting recipes for the discerning bakery professionals.

There will be Indian bakery and pastry challenge for practising chefs from bakeries, restaurants and hotels, including home chefs.

Among the two biggest highlights at the 2024 edition will be the prestigious “India Pizza Championship 2024” selections for the world pizza championship in Parma, Italy, 2025. The company will be staging the India pizza championship, an industry first, to select the best Pizzaiolo (as the Italians call), in short the Best Indian Pizza Chef, one who will represent India at the World Pizza Championship in April 2025 in Parma, Italy. Close to 75 pizza chefs are expected to participate in a live pizza making competition from across the country and will be judged by a jury composed of Italian and top Indian chefs.

The World Pizza Championship, which started in 1991, is a gruelling contest that takes place annually in Italy. It’s the ultimate test for those looking to earn the glorious title of the world’s best pizza maker. More than 1,000 competitions were held, over 700 pizza chefs, 53 nations competed in 12 different categories in Parma, Italy, in 2023.

The second highlight is an industry first - the Industry Consultants Lounge, where business visitors can pre-schedule meetings with top consultants and discuss, one on one, issues affecting their business operation, seek guidance and engage their services at no cost during the show days.

With this move, the event will emerge as a comprehensive business platform for the industry.

Gopalan stated, “We are estimating a visitor footfall in the region of 12,000 to 15,000 business visitors across the three days. Also, we will exceed 200 plus exhibitors in this edition.”

Co-located Events
Having held a ringside view of the HoReCa and bakery industry for close to two decades, the exhibitors have been, straddling both sectors, being compelled to exhibit in two separate sector shows in the same city/state.

As a business catalyst and sector analyst, it is observed that the line dividing both the sectors gradually blurring. There has been an increasing and strong industry voice that supported business assessment of bringing both shows under one single platform.

The business rationale being – bring investment efficiency for exhibitors targeting both sectors; at the same time, given the business synergy, offer visitors the opportunity to source and explore both markets all in one place. The HoReCa Business Show is now being held alongside the bakery business show. It's all about business synergies.

Bakery Business
Organised by Hospitality First India Pvt. Ltd, the event brings the latest in baking technology, equipment, ingredients, chocolates, accessories, and more from around the world to ensure that the Indian bakery industry is future-ready. It showcases cutting-edge innovations and trends, empowering to stay ahead in this dynamic field. It allows visitors to meet industry’s topmost manufacturers, suppliers of bakery equipment, technology, ingredients, chocolates, packaging solutions, accessories and many more.

Gopalan said, “This edition in comparison to the previous edition is 20 per cent bigger in size, which means more companies on the floor showcasing newer equipment, efficient technologies and innovative solutions for the industry. Our attempt has always been to bring newer companies to the show, with this edition we have a whole lot of newer brands offering some great technology and innovative solutions.”

HoReCa Business
This is western India’s foremost business fair for HoReCa professionals. HoReCa Business 2024 was formerly known as RECA Trade Show and The Hospitality First Show, staged in Mumbai for the last 10 years has now merged into a new entity. It is a luxury collective of food & hospitality products and services, is being presented by organisers at the country’s most luxurious best in-class exhibition venues.

India Bakery & Pastry Challenge
