Bandra’s TLE rings in Chinese New Year with bar takeover by Jiangxiaobai

Bandra’s speakeasy-inspired bar The Little Easy ushered in the Chinese New Year with Mumbai’s mainden bar takeover by Jiangxiaobai, a renowned Baijiu. The sorghum spirit formed the base for an array of cocktails by Rojita Tiwari, who has served as its brand ambassador in the city since 2018. It will be serving a specially-curated Chinese menu as an accompaniment until February 8, 2020.
Tiwari has about 14 years of experience, and is a well-known journalist covering wine and spirits, in addition to being the founder of Drinks and Destinations, a platform for drinks, travel and hospitality-themed content.
She is also a member of the jury at various wine and spirits and cocktail competitions around the world, and has tasted over 300 baijius over the last five years, and visited nearly 20 baijiu distilleries in China till date.
Launched in 2012, the Chongqing-based brand is popular with new-age cocktail aficionados the world over. It can either be relished straight or with a mixer, and will be presented through such offerings as Princess, Icebreaker, JXB Old Fashioned J-Mix and J-Shots.
Avril Gonsalves, bar manager, The Little Easy, has also curated a special cocktail, which will be a part of the Chinese New Year menu. The dishes accompanying the cocktails will be a lavish Asian-themed salad, appetisers, mains and desserts.
