A big change is happening in Bengaluru’s food scene! Bhookle, an award-winning food delivery app, is here to revolutionise the way people experience home-cooked meals. More than just a food delivery service, it is a platform that connects food lovers with talented home chefs, bringing warmth, nostalgia, and authenticity to every meal.
The idea behind it was born out of founder Arvind Ravichandran’s desire to relive the comforting taste of his mother’s cooking. He realised that food has the power to evoke deep memories, and it was created to bridge the gap between home chefs and those longing for authentic, home-cooked food.
Bengaluru is the perfect city for expansion, given its openness to innovation, cosmopolitan culture, and diverse food preferences. The city has a high density of talented home chefs skilled in regional and international cuisines, making it an ideal location to embrace their mission.
This app has already onboarded 130+ home chefs across Bengaluru, covering areas such as HSR Layout, Indiranagar, Whitefield, Bellandur, Jayanagar, JP Nagar, Yelahanka, and Manyata. With a growing list of 600+ new chefs in the pipeline, it is committed to creating a vibrant home-chef community and offering customers an unmatched variety of home-cooked meals.
It is introducing a 1-hour delivery and pre-order service, giving customers the flexibility to choose between instant delivery or scheduling their orders in advance. A subscription service is also in the pipeline, offering a convenient solution for those seeking regular home-cooked meals. Additionally, it plans to expand its network by onboarding 500 new home chefs in Bengaluru by Q1 2025, ensuring more variety and choices for food lovers across the city.
It has already received an overwhelming response from early adopters in Bengaluru. 72% of customers are repeat users, with many sharing how the food brings back memories of home-cooked meals. Home chefs, in turn, appreciate the opportunity to showcase their culinary heritage and build personal connections with customers.
It won the Best Food Delivery App of the Year at the Food Connoisseurs India Awards 2024, judged by 16 industry veterans. Standing out among eight national players, it was recognised for its innovative, community-driven approach that celebrates homemade meals with a personal touch.
Arvind Ravichandran, co-founder, expressed pride in the recognition, emphasising that Bhookle’s human-first model is reshaping India’s food delivery landscape. He said, “Unlike traditional apps, Bhookle offers dishes like “Vidhya aunty’s Special Arachivitta Sambar, adding warmth and storytelling to every order.”
