Boba Bhai, India’s premier bubble tea brand, has announced its expansion beyond Bangalore, Udaipur, and Hyderabad, into the Delhi-NCR region. The brand has been growing rapidly, now available across 17 locations nationally within four months of launch. The brand plans to expand to 100+ locations nationally, over the next 12 months.
In New Delhi, the brand will be setting up base in Malviya Nagar and Rajouri Garden, followed by the Sohna Road Gurgaon. The bubble tea market in India, as well as globally, has been growing by leaps and bounds, something that has been validated by BlueWeave Consulting’s report, which predicts the bubble tea market to grow at a CAGR of 14.6% between 2023 and 2028.
Speaking of the expansion, Dhruv Kohli, founder, Boba Bhai, shared, “The bubble tea market in India is growing at a very rapid pace. We have investors who have backed our rapid and profitable growth plan, and in the coming months, we are also going to announce further backing from existing and new investors, who understand the vision that we have for Boba Bhai’s national growth”, adding, “Delhi’s culinary diversity and youth-centric demographic aligns perfectly with Boba Bhai’s market. The region's numerous events and festivals provide strategic engagement opportunities, allowing the brand to establish a robust presence and tap into the high potential for footfall and delivery orders in this dynamic market. Moreover, the Delhi launch is a step forward towards our plans to open over 100 stores across India by the end of 2024, spreading the unique bubble tea culture to enthusiasts nationwide”.
The Korean Burger space, focal as well for Boba Bhai, has also seen rapid growth nationally, with more and more brands bringing it into their offerings.
Boba Bhai is today doing 25,000+ monthly orders nationally and has expanded its partner network to Zomato and Swiggy. It has localised bubble tea to suit Indian palates and is now looking at ensuring that it becomes the largest bubble tea brand in India, by H1, 2024.
