Brazil's participation in the World of Coffee 2022, held from June 23 to 25, 2022, in Milan, Italy, may generate a total of US$115.524 million in business, according to information from more than 30 Brazilian businesses that participated in the fair through the sector project "Brazil. The Coffee Nation", developed by the Brazil Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). At the event, considered the main event of the coffee sector in Europe, attended by over 11,000 people from 137 countries, Brazil promoted its coffees in a large stand, through the exhibition of products, 12 cupping sessions and business rounds. The activities of "Brazil. The Coffee Nation" enabled 1,193 business contacts to be made at World of Coffee 2022, 658 new relationships, which resulted in US$21.894 million in business deals during the event and a forecast of US$93.630 million over the next 12 months, which, if confirmed, will total US$115.5 million. According to the executive director of BSCA, Vinicius Estrela, the performance obtained was exceptional and demonstrates the precision of the actions of the sectorial project developed in partnership with ApexBrasil. "Brazil. The Coffee Nation is carried out with the objective of optimising the promotion and the business of Brazilian coffees around the world and has been demonstrating the accuracy of its actions. The result achieved at the World of Coffee in Milan is significantly higher than the one registered in previous editions of the same fair and this shows that we are on the right track", he says. As a comparison, the participation of Brazilian coffees in the World of Coffee - Dubai and the World of Coffee - Berlin, the first held in the context of Covid-19 and the last pre-Covid-19, respectively, together brought in approximately US$50 million for Brazilian coffees.
