Brigade Hospitality CEO Verma to speak at 12th Hotelier Summit India

Vineet Verma, executive director and chief executive officer, Brigade Hospitality Services Ltd, was chosen as the speaker at the twelfth edition of Hotelier Summit India, which will be held in Mumbai on June 6 and 7, 2017. Having decades of vast experience in the hospitality sector, he will share his insights into the challenges being faced by the industry at the summit.

He started his career with the Royal Calcutta Turf Club, one of the oldest and renowned thoroughbred horse racing institutions in the world. He officiated in various capacities, culminating in his appointment as its secretary and chief executive officer in 1993. He served there till 2003, and was secretary general, Turf Authorities of India.

Verma was later appointed as chief executive officer, Bengal Ambuja. He was actively involved in several Chambers of Commerce in Kolkata, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Young Leaders’ Forum, Bengal Chamber of Commerce, etc.

He was also a member of the governing body, Concern for Calcutta, a leading non-governmental organisation (NGO) in West Bengal.

Verma is presently executive director and SBU head, Brigade Hospitality, a company that is involved in hospitality, serviced apartments, clubs and convention centres, besides corporate catering and event management.

Besides two award-winning hotels in Bengaluru (Sheraton Grand Bangalore @ Brigade Gateway and Grand Mercure), the recently-opened Grand Mercure Mysuru and Holiday Inn Chennai, the Brigade Group has several other hotels under development in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Gujarat and Kerala, with an expected inventory of close to 2,000 keys by 2020.

He is an active member of the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce and mentor to its expert committee on tourism, media and leisure, and member, Karnataka Tourism Vision Group (constituted by the government of Karnataka).
