Cargill appoints Andrew MacPherson as CEO of Teys Beef processing business
Thursday, 23 October, 2025, 12 : 00 PM [IST]
BRISBANE, Australia
Cargill has announced the forthcoming appointment of Andrew MacPherson as the chief executive officer of the Teys beef processing business. The appointment, based in Brisbane, Australia, is contingent upon the successful completion of the change of ownership, a transaction announced in June 2025 and subject to regulatory approvals.

MacPherson will be responsible for leading Teys’ operations, focusing on providing healthy, high-quality Australian beef products and managing the procurement of Australian livestock for both local and international customers.

His return to a leadership role follows a distinguished 18-year history with the beef sector, including being instrumental in the establishment of the original Cargill-Teys joint venture. MacPherson previously served as Teys’ CEO from 2021 to 2023, a period during which he successfully guided the company through a significant transformation phase, driving diversification and positioning the business for long-term growth.

Until the change of ownership is finalized, Brad Teys will continue to serve as CEO, capping off a 14-year venture partnership between the Teys family and Cargill.

Jon Nash, executive vice president and leader of Cargill's Food Enterprise, expressed confidence in the transition. He thanked Brad Teys for his leadership, stating that under his guidance, the partnership built Teys into a globally recognized brand and a leading processor and exporter of premium Australian beef. Nash is confident that MacPherson's extensive expertise and track record will ensure Teys’ future success as a world-class beef processing business.

Teys currently employs 5,000 people across its two primary operating companies, Teys Australia and Teys USA.
