Carlsberg India Ltd has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for its confidential pre-filing of documents for a proposed Initial Public Offering (IPO).
The company had submitted its IPO papers to SEBI under the confidential filing route in July 2026. The mechanism allows companies to submit draft offer documents to the market regulator while keeping the documents private until they decide to make the filing public.
Carlsberg India commenced commercial operations in the country in June 2007 with the launch of Carlsberg Green, marking its entry into the premium beer segment. Since then, the company has expanded its presence in the Indian beer market with a portfolio that includes brands such as Carlsberg and Tuborg, among other offerings.
The proposed IPO comes as parent company Carlsberg continues to report growth across key markets. In its earnings guidance for the six months ended June 30, 2026, the Danish brewer reported 2.8 per cent volume growth, with organic volume growth at 1.7per cent during the period.
Europe recorded volume growth of 0.1 per cent, while the Central and Eastern Europe and India region registered 6.2 per cent growth during the first half of 2026. The performance underlines the contribution of the region, including India, to Carlsberg's overall volume performance.
The SEBI approval marks a key step in Carlsberg India's proposed IPO process. Details of the issue, including its size, timing and other terms, are expected to be disclosed when the relevant offer documents are made public, subject to applicable regulatory and corporate approvals.
