Coffee Board of India unveils premium GI-tagged drip coffee bags

Coffee Board of India in an effort to elevate coffee experience has introduced the GI-tagged single serve easy to brew coffee drip bags and Indian specialty coffees recently. This according to the board brings the heritage of Indian coffees to consumers
These GI-tagged coffee drip bags are designed for simplicity and effortless brewing, require no equipment but just hot water for a freshly brewed cup anytime, anywhere. This latest innovation features coffee drip bags of five GI-tagged coffees -Coorg Arabica Coffee, Chikmagalur Arabica Coffee, Bababudangiri Arabica Coffee, Araku Valley Arabica Coffee, Monsooned Malabar Arabica Coffee.
The drip bags bring a blissful Indian coffee experience to every household, beyond traditional markets. Designed for convenience, which suits home brewers, office, and travel needs, stated the communication note from the board.
We are strengthening our domestic coffee market by selling 100% pure coffee in India Coffee House, India Coffee Depot, and e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Something Brewing, ONDC, and WhatsApp Business. Further, the Initiatives like Kaapi Shastra, Barista Skills training & participation in domestic exhibitions promote coffee culture and thereby driving domestic coffee consumption, stated a communication note from the board.
It had previously launched premium GI-tagged regional coffees including Coorg Arabica, Chikmagalur Arabica, Bababudangiris Arabica and Araku Arabica coffees along with 100% Arabica and an Arabica-Robusta blend under the India Coffee Taste Nature brand. The Board has also introduced affordable coffee options such as 100% Arabica and a blend of Arabica-Robusta under the Coffees of India and India Coffee Heritage brands, ensuring availability of high-quality Indian coffee at affordable price.
Simultaneously, Coffee Board is also launching Indian speciality coffees like GI tagged Monsooned Malabar Arabica Coffee and Mysore Nuggets Extra Bold Arabica Coffee. “Monsoon Malabar is the only Monsooned coffee in the world. Here India takes the pride of perfecting the art of deliberately monsooning coffee by creating the World's most exotic Speciality Coffees,” said the board.
Mysore Nuggets Extra Bold, a rare premium extra-large Arabica Coffee beans from India, intensely aromatic and exotic coffees sourced from finest coffee estates located in Western Ghats, one of the biodiversity hotspots in the world.
As coffee culture evolves, this innovation ensures quality and accessibility while supporting the dedicated farmers behind every cup. India continues to craft some of the most exotic and flavourful coffees cherished by connoisseurs. The Coffee Board’s collaboration with ecommerce is set to enhance domestic coffee culture footprint, making premium Indian coffee accessible to millions.
P Jagdisha, executive director, Coffee Board, said, “The online availability ensures access to quality coffee for enthusiasts. The upcoming initiatives include Barista training in office science.”
MJ Dinesh, chairman, Coffee Board, said, “Coffee related exhibitions are planned nationwide to increase awareness about coffee culture and pure coffee consumption, as per the published media report.” Currently Coffee Board provides training programme to coffee growers and entrepreneurs trough the Union government’ Atal Innovation Vision Scheme. There are 68 start-ups across India including 20 from Karnataka are receiving training. The board conducts workshops on initial cultivation to export.
