Comments sought on collection of recipes of Ayurvedic food products

The FSSAI has sought comments from stakeholders, on collection of recipes of Ayurvedic food products.
The food is called Ayurveda Aahara and includes 38 varieties such as snacks made of black gram, wheat flour bread, confectionery items, fermented beverages, jaggery and milk preparations.
According to the FSSAI, a compendium of Ayurveda Aahara based on the recipes mentioned in 71 authoritative books for Ayurveda Aahara, as per the Food Safety and Standards (Ayurveda Aahara) Regulations, 2022, has been prepared for facilitating Food Business Operators (FBOs) for manufacturing of Ayurveda Aahara.
"Before the same is finalised, the comments/views/suggestions of the stakeholders are solicited," reads the notice issued by the FSSAI, in this regard.
The notice added that only such of the comments/suggestions would be
taken into consideration as are furnished with supporting scientific evidence or excerpts of Authoritative Ayurveda Textbooks.
