Craft beer, with its artful brewing techniques and diverse flavours, has taken the world by storm, and India is no exception. Over the past few years, India has witnessed a remarkable surge in the appreciation and consumption of finely crafted, locally sourced beers. With an array of breweries emerging across the country, beer enthusiasts are expanding their palettes and embarking on a journey of unique taste experiences. One of the most captivating aspects of India's craft beer revolution is the emphasis on using the finest locally sourced ingredients. From the aromatic spices of Kerala to the luscious fruits of Himachal Pradesh, every sip of Indian craft beer is a celebration of our cultural heritage. AB InBev, in collaboration with IHCL, has launched an exceptional chain of Seven Rivers microbreweries across India, redefining the beer experience. The first brewpub opened in Bengaluru in 2020, with a second location at Taj Holiday Village in Goa in 2023. These brewpubs offer a one-of-a-kind experience, where beers are crafted to reflect the quintessential flavours of each region, using the finest locally sourced ingredients. Immerse yourself in the world of Seven Rivers Brewpub and discover the art of brewing with a distinct Indian touch. The Goa brewpub, featuring expansive outdoor areas and an indoor tasting table, showcases standout brews like the Poi lager, infused with local Goan bread, and the Kokum Gose, highlighting the tangy Kokum from Goa's farms. With a menu blending Goan delicacies and global favourites, all perfectly paired with craft beers, Seven Rivers Brewpubs promise an unforgettable culinary journey. AB InBev also planning to bring this remarkable experience to 15 more cities across India. Another craft beer brand Simba is available in 15 states with a portfolio consisting of Wit, Light, Stout and Strong beer. Simba uses local ingredients such as lemongrass, coriander seeds, coffee and orange to give unique flavours to craft beers. Similarly, Bira brews its various styles of beer across five breweries in India and is available in over 500 towns across 15 countries. Its signature taprooms in Bangalore serve 20 kinds of beer on tap and introduce an experimental beer every week. At present, Bira has eight flavours in the Bira 91 beer portfolio ranging from lagers to wheat beers to IPA. The trend of using local ingredients in craft beer not only highlights the diversity of Indian cuisine but also offers consumers a chance to explore new and exciting flavour profiles.
