The Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), the third largest hospitality association in the world has announced that Jonty Rhodes, the legendary cricketer known and admired by millions worldwide, will be the guest of honour at the 54th FHRAI annual convention. The event will take place from October 16 to 18, 2024, at the Taj Cidade de Goa, Horizon.

The convention is a key event in the Indian hospitality industry, bringing together influential voices, policy makers, and thought leaders from both India and abroad. This year’s theme, ‘Tourism @2047: Incredible to Inevitable India’, aligns with the Government of India’s vision of making India a leading global tourism destination by 2047.

Rhodes said, “I am absolutely thrilled to be the guest of honour at the 54th Annual Convention of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India, set to take place in the beautiful state of Goa, from the 16th to the 18th of October, 2024. It is my true pleasure and an honour to be part of such a prestigious event in a country that I have always admired and deeply loved. So, I am excited to share my thoughts with so many passionate individuals from the Indian tourism and hospitality sector. India, with its rich culture, stunning landscapes and warm hospitality, holds a unique place on the World Tourism Map. I believe we all will celebrate that spirit at the Convention, and to dream even bigger for the future of Indian tourism. So, I encourage each of you, hoteliers, restaurateurs, policy makers and all tourism stakeholders to harness your collective energy and creativity. Together, let's drive growth and sustainability with purpose and passion, and let's work towards a truly inevitable India in the tourism landscape by 2047.”

Pradeep Shetty, president at The Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India, said, “We are thrilled to have Rhodes join us as the guest of honour at this year’s convention. His illustrious career and global influence align perfectly with our theme and objectives. We believe his presence will greatly enrich the conversations and inspire our delegates as we look towards the future of tourism in India.”
