Dairy-free brand Klimon enters multi-year licensing agreement with Universal

Virginia, USA
The Minions are getting a new “gelato!” As Despicable Me 4 dominates the box office, fast-growing dairy-free brand Klimon has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with Universal that includes the right to develop Minion-branded non-dairy products.

Klimon (“No Milk” backwards) 100% plant-based, dairy-free, gluten-free frozen desserts first appeared in grocery freezer aisles in 2022. Now sold across the nation in grocers like Harris Teeter, Stop & Shop and Stater Brothers, Klimon is riding YOY revenue growth of 126% and investing in brand-building partnerships and positioning.

A recent packaging redesign placed emphasis on the “No Milk” play on words – with a new logo that features a backwards N and a crossed out “O.” New pints include specific colour gradients for each flavour: previously the packaging was uniformly black and white. (Product, packaging and logo files available on request.)

Collaborating with Universal, Klimon intends to develop new Minion-themed flavours of its frozen dessert pints, introduce Minion frozen dessert novelties and potentially expand beyond the freezer case. Currently, it offers frozen dessert pints in seven decadent flavours.

The product’s creamy texture comes from a proprietary process that blends pea protein, coconut oil and tapioca. The products are naturally flavoured, sweetened with sugar and contain a variety of delicious inclusions.

“The plant-based food revolution is here to stay, and new iconic brands will emerge,” said Klimon founder and CEO Alex Cotraviwat “By delivering superior taste and experience, understanding and meeting consumer desires and integrating with cultural touchstones, we believe Klimon can be the market leader in dairy-free products.”
