Fastrr, the AI-native commerce platform by Shiprocket, has expanded into the food commerce segment through partnerships with Vegorama Group, which operates Punjabi Angithi, and Bikkgane Biryani. The move marks the platform’s entry into the restaurant and food delivery ecosystem, with a focus on helping food brands strengthen direct customer relationships, increase repeat orders and develop their own digital ordering channels.
As online food ordering becomes an increasingly important revenue stream for restaurants, brands are seeking ways to build customer loyalty and reduce their dependence on third-party food aggregators. Fastrr aims to address this need by enabling restaurants to attract customers to their own digital platforms, improve order conversions and encourage repeat purchases, while supporting last-mile delivery.
The partnerships cover two major food categories in Delhi-NCR: vegetarian North Indian cuisine and biryani. Vegorama Group, which operates Punjabi Angithi, is a BSE-listed company with a significant share of its revenue coming from online delivery.
Under the partnership, Fastrr Identity and Fastrr Signals will help the brands identify high-intent and returning customers, as well as flag potential return-to-origin (RTO) and cash-on-delivery (COD) risks before orders are placed. Fastrr Ads will support performance marketing campaigns optimised for delivered orders, while WhatsApp-based tools will help recover abandoned carts and deliver personalised offers and reorder reminders.
The collaboration will also leverage Shiprocket Quick’s multi-partner rider network to support hyperlocal deliveries from individual outlets, with live order tracking for customers ordering through the brands’ direct channels. Additional initiatives include influencer-led campaigns for Vegorama Group, packaging and design support for both partners, and plans to explore direct-to-consumer (D2C) food products through their websites and quick-commerce platforms.
Commenting on the expansion, Gaurav Mangla, CEO – Ads and Checkout, Shiprocket, said, “The next phase of growth in food commerce lies in building lasting customer relationships that translate into repeat business. For restaurants, every order is an opportunity to build familiarity, understand what customers value and give them a reason to return. We believe brands should have the ability to build that relationship directly, rather than have it mediated entirely by third-party platforms.”
Deepak Chadha, founder, Punjabi Angithi, Vegorama Group, said the partnership would support the company’s digital growth through new marketing initiatives and an enhanced online ordering experience. He added that the group would also explore new food products and formats to expand its reach beyond its existing restaurant operations.
Praveen Valmiki, founder, Bikkgane Biryani, said the association would help strengthen the brand’s digital ordering experience and deliver a more consistent customer journey, from menu discovery and order placement to doorstep delivery.
For consumers, the direct ordering channels are expected to offer a simplified checkout process, live delivery tracking, personalised offers and WhatsApp-based reorder reminders. Customers will also be able to access brand menus and loyalty programmes, with exclusive D2C products potentially being introduced through the brands’ own channels over time.
Fastrr plans to extend its food commerce offering to more restaurant chains, quick-service restaurants and cloud kitchens, while exploring adjacent categories such as bakeries, desserts, beverages and packaged foods. Its roadmap includes food-specific features such as menu-aware checkout, loyalty programmes, automated reorder prompts and peak-hour delivery allocation.
The expansion builds on Shiprocket’s broader commerce enablement capabilities, bringing customer engagement, marketing and fulfilment together to help food businesses develop their own digital channels and strengthen direct customer relationships.
