FHRAI hosts successful three-day convention in Goa

The Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), the third largest hospitality association in the world, recently hosted a three-day convention in Goa, bringing together industry leaders, professionals, and stakeholders to discuss the future of the hospitality sector. This year's theme, ‘Tourism @2047: Invincible’, focused on the vision for the hospitality industry in the coming decades, emphasising resilience, innovation, and sustainability. The event featured engaging sessions, networking opportunities, and a celebration of excellence in the industry.

A key highlight of the convention was the keynote address delivered by Puneet Chhatwal, managing director and CEO of Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL). Chhatwal’s insights on leadership and strategic growth in the hospitality sector were not only inspiring but also demonstrated his commitment to advancing industry standards.

The three-day event, running from October 16 to 18, was inaugurated by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister for Tourism, Government of India, in the presence of Dr Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa. The convention brought together approximately 800 delegates to discuss the future of India’s tourism and hospitality industry. The welcome address was delivered by D S Advani, chairman of the Convention Organising Committee (COC), and Pradeep Shetty, president of FHRAI.

Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, shared his thoughts via a video message. Additionally, Mugdha Sinha, director general of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, also addressed the event. Suman Billa, additional secretary, Ministry of Tourism, was among the speakers.

Shetty said, "I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended this year's convention. Your participation reflects our collective commitment to excellence and innovation in the hospitality industry. Together, we can drive meaningful change and create a brighter future for our sector. I am grateful to our esteemed speakers, panellists, and partners for contributing their insights and expertise. It is through collaboration that we can overcome challenges and seize new opportunities."
