Fi Asia Indonesia - Unmissable event to source, learn, connect

Fi Asia Indonesia, an unmissable event for F&B professionals looking to source, learn and connect in the country’s booming market, is all set to take place from September 4 to 6, 2024, at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo).  Here, the exhibitors will present their most innovative products and solutions in sectors such as bakery, sugar replacements and sweeteners, dairy, plant-based and functional foods, showcasing the future of food ingredients from across the region and beyond.

New to this year the event will have Halal Law training and workshop, focus on new development of indigenous ingredients and development of new ingredients to serve consumer trend which focuses more on healthy food.

Elaborating on the event, Rose Chitanuwat, regional portfolio director – ASEAN, Informa Markets, said, “This year’s theme is ‘Elevating the Future of Food Value Chain through Innovation and Sustainability’. The previous edition in Indonesia is a first edition after pandemic, which we focus more on return to market and gather the industry together. Of course, it was addressing the importance of sustainability inside the food industry sector. The trend is still similar, but this year, we would focus on more of sustainability in every parameter in food value chain, which is to apply innovation and sustainability approach.”

The event is much more than just a trade show. The wide range of conferences, seminars, exhibitor tours, dedicated zones, and other onsite features offer priceless industry knowledge to help and make the most of your time at the show. The event is co-located with other events like ProPak Jakarta, Growtech Indoneisa.

Key Features
This year’s show boasts of a wide range of features offering priceless industry insights from ASEAN. This includes International Conferences, Innovation Tours by Nutrimarketing and Innova, Snack Bar and Beverage Hub.

Chitanuwat said, “Highlight of this year would be focused on the importance of the fourth-largest market in the world by population and driven for the development of how food eco system in Indonesia has been trading.”

She added, “Focus more on the new Act of Indonesia market such as the Halal Law implemented in the food industry in October 2024 onwards. And, also to support the growth of opportunity of local producers and SMEs. The highlight would also include this as the biggest edition compared to pre-pandemic.”
 
Exhibitors & Visitors

The event expects 22,800 plus visitors and 700 plus exhibitors in three days. It represents taste the future of food ingredients. The visitors can source innovations with nearly 1,000 companies showcasing their products and solutions, nurture network connects with like-minded professionals attendees, discover the latest trends stay abreast of the current trends through conference sessions & seminars.

Pavilions
Chitanuwat stated, “This edition of event will have US Pavilion with the USDA: Top US companies in dairy, proteins and dehydrated products will showcase their most innovative ingredients and solutions.”

“There also will be China Pavilion, Spain Pavilion, Malaysia Pavilion, India Pavilion, Thailand pavilion. Most of the participants in the pavilion are focusing on their local ingredients development which of course from their resource in the country. It expects to expand the line with export opportunity in SEA, especially, Indonesia.”
 
International Conferences
Co-organised with SEAFAST Centre and IPB University, this year's theme is "Toward One Health Through Sustainable and Innovative Food Science and Technology". Speaker topics will include food safety, health and nutrition and a Halal workshop.

Student Products Competition
Held by the Student Association of Food Science and Technology of IPB, this feature allows young scientists to present their ideas to improve the usage of indigenous ingredients in the development of food products.

Halal Conferences

This activity brings together leading researchers and food experts to share their knowledge and experiences on all aspects of Halal food and beverage with a strong focus on the current updates of the Halal certification for producers in Indonesia.

Snack Bar
Here, preparation of selected snack foods for display is done covering the Indonesian snack market and healthy snacking as a lifestyle.

Sustainability Square
Interactive zone for visitors and exhibitors to discover how Fi Asia Indonesia drives sustainable processes in the industry. Activities are designed to support the local community and offer attendees the chance to make their own tempeh or smoothies.
