Food Safety Depts on alert mode as festivities in the air

The State Food Safety Departments in many states have issued advisory regarding Christmas and New Year.
From UP to Kerala, the Food Safety Departments remain on alert mode as the year ending festivities approaching.
As per reports, samples of confectionery items including cakes in many cities were taken for analysis.
The report added that Food Safety Departments constituted teams and launched surveillance at major market areas across cities.
The administration has asked the officials to remain vigilant and keep a close eye on food adulteration at commercial establishments.
In Maharashtra, surprise checks were carried out at many locations to assess the quality of the food products.
Further, the food safety officials along with other arms of administration have been told to keep an eye on liquor shops and other such establishments where liquor is served.
