Marking World Food Day, Food Service India Pvt. Ltd. (FSIPL), one of India’s leading B2B food solutions providers, has announced the nationwide launch of a new range of shelf-stable boiled pulses under its flagship brand Sunbay. The range includes Boiled Rajma, Boiled Chole, and Boiled Urad Dal, designed to help professional kitchens enhance speed, reduce preparation time, minimize waste, and ensure consistent taste across outlets.
With India being the world’s largest producer and consumer of pulses, the country’s food service sector — valued at ?4,980 crore in 2024 and projected to reach ?11,680 crore by 2033 at a CAGR of 10.3% (Custom Market Insights) — is increasingly adopting ready-to-cook and convenience-based solutions. Sunbay’s new range aims to cater to this fast-evolving demand from quick service restaurants (QSRs), fine dining hotels, banquets, institutional kitchens, and cloud kitchens.
Each product in the new line is fully cooked, vacuum-sealed, and hygienically packed, ensuring food safety and superior taste. The pulses are ready to use immediately, requiring only tempering before serving — a feature that reduces preparation time by up to 80% and cuts manpower needs by 20–30%. Additionally, portion-controlled packaging minimizes waste and maintains standardized quality across locations.
Commenting on the launch, Ajay Mariwala, Managing Director, Food Service India Pvt. Ltd., said, “With Sunbay’s boiled pulses range, we are enabling professional kitchens to prep less and serve more. Our goal is to help chefs save time without compromising on taste, quality, or control. On this World Food Day, we are taking our commitment to ready-to-cook innovation to the next level.”
The new Sunbay boiled pulses are now available across India, reinforcing Food Service India’s mission to simplify and modernize commercial kitchen operations nationwide.
