FSSAI issues revised list of labs for testing micronutrients in FR, FRK

The national food regulator has issued a revised list of notified laboratories for testing of micronutrients in Fortified Rice (FR), Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) and Vitamin-Mineral Premix for Fortified Rice Kernel.
This order supercedes the previous order regarding the notified labs.
According to FSSAI, the approved notified laboratories were capable of testing micronutrients (Iron, Vitamin B12 and Vitamin B9) in Fortified Rice (FR), Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) and Vitamin-Mineral Premix for Fortified Rice Kernel.
The notified labs would carry out analysis of samples of FR, FRK and Vitamin-Mineral premix for FRK while the laboratories shall accept the samples for testing if they have valid accreditation status.
"The recognition and validity of laboratories shall be governed by the
guidelines or orders issued by FSSAI from time to time," reads the order issued by FSSAI.
