FSSAI seeks applications from experts for membership of RAFT Committee

The food authority has sought applications from experts for membership of the Rapid Analytical Food Testing Committee. The RAFT Committee has nine members, which may be increased/decreased by the Food Authority based on the requirement and the interested experts can submit applications till January 8, 2026, for the same.
As per FSSAI, the RAFT Committee is a body, whose recommendations are approved by the Competent Authority before adoption or implementation. The objectives of the committee include review and recommend suitable RAFT applications for food analysis, examine validation data for new and emerging analytical methods, develop guidelines for harmonisation and standardisation of RAFT techniques, support regulatory frameworks by providing technical advice, promote capacity building through training & awareness programmes and encourage innovation and research in food testing technologies.
The RAFT Committee is valid for a period of three years from the date of notification of its constitution and the term of a member will be co-terminus with that of the committee while experts, scientists, professionals from Government institutions, laboratories, organisations with outstanding records, achievements to their credit in the field of rapid analytical food testing kits, equipment, methods may consider applying for the membership.
