Himalaya Food expands global reach with UK launch

Himalaya Food International Ltd. has strengthened its global expansion strategy with the launch of its Frozen Cinnamon French Toast Sticks in the United Kingdom and the approval of its products as a regular vendor within the network of US Foods, one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States.

The entry into the UK market marks the company’s first product launch in the region and forms part of its broader strategy to diversify export destinations and expand its presence across Europe. The UK is expected to serve as a gateway for promoting the company’s portfolio of value-added frozen food products, including specialty potato products and frozen appetisers, across the European market.

The expansion follows the company’s recent export initiatives in Australia earlier this year, as it continues to strengthen its international footprint and reduce exposure to shifting global trade dynamics.

The company also expects its European expansion to benefit from the recently concluded India–EU trade agreement, which is anticipated to enhance export competitiveness through favourable duty structures and improved logistics connectivity.

In a parallel development, Himalaya Food International has successfully completed product registration with US Foods, transitioning from a spot vendor status held since 2025 to becoming a Regular Approved Vendor within the distributor’s procurement network.

Following the approval, APN numbers have been assigned to the company’s key product lines, allowing procurement teams across the US Foods distribution system to place direct orders through centralised purchasing platforms.

The initial portfolio approved under the programme includes Straight Cut French Fries, Crinkle Cut French Fries, Shoestring French Fries and Baked Potato Skins.

The development is expected to significantly expand the company’s reach across the extensive US Foods distribution network and create opportunities for additional product listings across North American foodservice channels.

Founded in 1979 by Man Mohan Malik, Himalaya Food International has grown into a global food processing enterprise employing more than 1,200 people and supporting over 1,000 contract farmers. The company operates two ISO 22000-certified facilities in India and produces natural frozen and canned food products without chemical preservatives, while following a circular farm-to-fork sustainability model that recycles agro-waste into compost to support soil health for farmers.
