India's clean label foods market is poised for steady growth, with its value projected to increase from US$ 2.71 billion in 2025 to US$ 4.79 billion by 2034, registering a CAGR of 6.58 per cent during 2026-2034, according to Deep Market Insights. Clean label beverages held the largest market share in 2025, while clean label dairy products are expected to witness the fastest growth during the forecast period.
India accounted for 5.42 per cent of the global clean label foods market in 2025. Globally, the United States is expected to remain the largest market by 2034, while China is projected to lead the Asia-Pacific region, with its market estimated to reach US$ 10.24 billion by 2034.
Against this backdrop, premium clean-label food brand Wild Date is strengthening its focus on product quality, ingredient transparency and sustainable growth as it expands its footprint in India's fast-growing healthy foods segment.
Commenting on the company's growth strategy, C.S. Siddarth, Founder, Wild Date, said scaling a premium clean-label business requires balancing expansion with product consistency despite the natural variability of real ingredients. He noted that maintaining consistent taste, texture and shelf life demands rigorous sourcing, manufacturing and quality control processes.
"While scaling often creates pressure to reduce costs, our focus has been on optimising processes rather than compromising on ingredient quality. We believe long-term consumer trust is built through consistency and transparency," Siddarth said.
Sustainability remains a key pillar of the company's strategy. Siddarth described it as an evolving journey, with Wild Date working to minimise food waste through improved manufacturing efficiency, responsible sourcing partnerships and environmentally conscious packaging. The company also plans to introduce a sustainable packaging selection option on its website in the coming months, enabling consumers to make environmentally responsible choices.
Wild Date is leveraging both quick commerce and modern retail to strengthen its market presence. According to Siddarth, quick commerce has helped the brand reach younger consumers seeking healthier snacking alternatives, while modern retail continues to drive product discovery, visibility and repeat purchases through in-store engagement.
Looking ahead, Siddarth believes the clean-label and functional snacking segment will increasingly be driven by ingredient transparency rather than front-of-pack marketing claims. Consumers, he said, are paying closer attention to ingredient quality, processing methods and overall food philosophy instead of focusing solely on nutritional claims such as calories or protein content.
The company is also expanding its research and development capabilities by combining nutrition science with consumer insights. Every product undergoes multiple rounds of refinement to optimise taste, texture and mouthfeel before commercial launch, to deliver products that appeal to consumers for both flavour and nutritional value.
Transparent labelling continues to remain central to Wild Date's brand positioning. The company keeps ingredient lists simple and easy to understand while avoiding unnecessary preservatives and artificial additives. Siddarth said the brand prefers to let its ingredients speak for product quality rather than relying heavily on marketing claims, while maintaining the same level of transparency for products positioned as indulgent.
Building on its portfolio expansion from snack bars and granola to cookies and premium nut butters, Wild Date plans to broaden its offerings across breakfast, on-the-go snacking and indulgence categories over the next two to three years. While international expansion forms part of its long-term strategy, the company's immediate priority remains strengthening its presence in India. Siddarth identified the Middle East, Singapore and Southeast Asia as attractive future markets, citing rising demand for premium clean-label products and growing familiarity with Indian food brands.
Over the next 12 to 24 months, Wild Date plans to accelerate product innovation, expand distribution across quick commerce, modern retail and premium offline channels, strengthen its direct-to-consumer business and invest in scalable manufacturing capabilities. The company said its long-term goal is to build one of India's most trusted premium food brands by making healthy, real-ingredient foods both accessible and enjoyable.
