Homefoodi, incepted in October 2019, is a mobile application for home food made by home chefs that empowers and connects the society. This Indian startup comes with the aim of making home-cooked meals accessible to every individual. The company offers a wide range of regional and global cuisines to facilitate eating healthy home-cooked meals. Since the very beginning there has been a significant increase in the number of home chefs associated with Homefoodi, it has now touched the 250+ mark.

Homefoodi is very different from cloud kitchens as their supply ecosystem is "home kitchens" and not "commercial kitchens". Since homemakers (home chefs) undertake the highest precaution for cleaning utensils and vegetables, sanitisation of their home kitchens, use of fresh ingredients while cooking and packaging, hence the food prepared is far more fresh, healthy, and hygienic. The home-cloud kitchen brand has been very selective and responsible in selecting home chefs. As a practice, the team has visited every home chef to check for food quality, hygiene and cleanliness of their kitchen as well as the packaging standards. All home chefs are 100% FSSAI registered.

“Home-cooked meals are hygienically cooked, provide a balanced diet, have higher energy levels, are wholesome and help you have a healthy body and a healthy mind. Homefoodi is truly enabling a healthy and fit India”, commented Dr Mona Dahiya, co-founder and director, Homefoodi.

With the onset of the current pandemic, the company has transformed into an entity following no- contact at every level of the organisation. The brand carries out all their services online to ensure no human interaction for the home chefs as well as the consumers. The company has ensured a complete contact-less ecosystem of home chefs, vendors, delivery partners and company employees in compliance with the government’s mandate to maintain social distancing at all times.

The company plans to be present across the top 10 cities of India with over 1 lakh home chefs on their platform within the subsequent two years. It is creating India’s biggest self-employment opportunity on a mobile platform by empowering homemakers to earn by being a home chef. The company has a vision to unite the country through localised home food experiences embracing a vocal for local culture. The Made-in-India food delivery application has a mission of ghar-ghar start-up. This mission empowers every homemaker to contribute towards nation building and a healthy India.

“'Vocal for local’, every home chef is an epitome for ‘Atmanirbhar’ and a symbol of self reliance. 250 plus home chefs across Noida, Greater Noida and Indirapuram is an inspiring example of how women are stepping in contribute towards nation building", added founder and director of Homefoodi Narendra Singh Dahiya.
