Informa establishes ProPak Asia 2026 as a key regional event
Tuesday, 10 February, 2026, 08 : 00 AM [IST]
Bangkok, Thailand
Sanchai Noombunnam, Country General Manager of Informa Markets Thailand and organizer of ProPak Asia 2026, addressed industry stakeholders at the inaugural “ProPak Asia Night”, an event organized to reinforce ProPak Asia’s position as a comprehensive processing and packaging platform for the Asian region at its new venue, while supporting Thailand’s manufacturing sector in advancing to the global stage.

The event brought together insights from experts across government, business organizations, and industrial sectors to explore economic directions and the future of the food industry in 2026. Sanchai noted that the global food industry is currently shaped by three major trends: Food Security focusing not only on availability but also high nutritional value; Functional Food; and Personalized Nutrition, all of which are expected to see rising demand. These trends require high-precision production and processing technologies, accelerating the adoption of Hyper-Automation in manufacturing.

To support entrepreneurs in Thailand and across ASEAN in accessing knowledge, exchanging experiences, and experiencing global production technologies, ProPak Asia 2026 will undergo significant enhancements to reinforce its role as a key regional event. The exhibition will seamlessly connect the entire business ecosystem and Total Value Chain—from upstream raw material preparation and management, through midstream production and processing, to downstream warehousing and logistics. It also provides a platform for regional entrepreneurs to connect, form partnerships, and conduct business negotiations at both regional and global levels.

Reflecting the rapid growth of the manufacturing industry, ProPak Asia 2026 will move to a new venue—IMPACT Muang Thong Thani—with the exhibition area expanded from 55,000 square metres to 65,000 square metres, an increase of approximately 20 percent. The expanded space will accommodate technologies ranging from small to large-scale machinery and complete production lines from leading global companies, while also showcasing IoT, AI, and Big Data technologies through what is expected to be Asia’s most comprehensive “Live Working Line.” The new venue will facilitate easier machinery transport, improved facilities, and increased capacity for international exhibitors and visitors.

In addition to machinery, innovations, and solutions, ProPak Asia 2026 will host Regional Conferences led by over 100 experts across packaging, food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, personal care, laboratory testing, and warehousing and logistics management. Key highlights include the Global Packaging Forum 2026, Executive Talk: Asian Agri-Food Sector, and the Beverage Executive Talk, offering senior executives insights into current challenges and future business directions. The event is expected to feature up to 2,500 brands from 45 countries and welcome more than 80,000 visitors, making it a major regional platform that Thai entrepreneurs cannot afford to miss.

At the same event, Dr. Charoen Kaewsuksai, Chairman of the Food and Beverage Industry Club, The Federation of Thai Industries, outlined the outlook for Thailand’s food industry in 2026. He stated that Thai food exports in 2025 were valued at 1.52 trillion baht, contracting 7.5 percent year-on-year, with the agri-food group declining 12.2 percent and the agro-industrial group 2.9 percent. While exports to major markets such as China and ASEAN slowed, positive growth was recorded in emerging and high-potential markets including Latin America, Africa, the USA, and the European Union.

Despite Thailand’s reputation as the “Kitchen of the World,” Dr. Charoen emphasized the need to reassess whether the country’s food industry is modern, safe, sustainable, and globally connected. He highlighted Innovation, Global Connection, and Sustainability as the three driving forces of today’s food industry, stressing the importance of digitalization, AI, automation, and smart manufacturing to enhance flexibility and global competitiveness.

Dr. Visit Limlurcha, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Processed Food and Future Food Committee, added that although global trade in 2026 faces challenges, opportunities remain amid uncertainty. He underlined the importance of Future Food, innovation, digital transformation, and traceability to meet global standards and strengthen supply-chain resilience. He described ProPak Asia 2026 as an “important jigsaw” for Thailand’s industrial sector, providing essential tools, technologies, and knowledge to keep pace with global demands.

ProPak Asia 2026 will be held from June 10–13, 2026, at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani.
