Inter Dairy - Over 6000 attendees at fair showcasing complete value chain

The premier event, Inter Dairy, is an international exhibition for the complete value chain of the dairy industry. The inaugural edition of the event will take place from December 5 to 6, 2024, at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.
The event is designed by keeping in view the growth potential of the Indian dairy industry and its sourcing requirements. Organised by Indian Dairy Association (West Zone) along with VA Exhibition Pvt Ltd, this trade fair is the complete value chain of the dairy industry. Around 6,000 to 8,000 dairy professionals are expected at the three-day trade fair.
Vamshidhar Gurram, director, VA Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, the organiser, said, “The show will address the sourcing requirement from dairy farming and farm equipment to veterinary, processing & packaging equipment, automation & data processing, cold chain management to milk & milk allied products.”
The event will create new business opportunities for all stakeholders of the dairy industry under one roof. Concurrent events like seminar, B2B meetings, CEO Conclave and job fair will further enhance the understanding of the industry trends and possible solutions to the challenges being faced by the Indian dairy industry.
Gurram said, “The highlights of the current edition of the exhibition are over 120 exhibitors from India and abroad will display all the products and services for the dairy industry. The event covers over 10,000 sqm of exhibition space. Indian Dairy Association (West Zone) will organise a two-day seminar on December 5 and 6, 2024. The association will also organise the inaugural edition of Inter Dairy Awards on December 5, 2024.”
Visitors will witness the latest technological advancements in the dairy industry displayed at the event. Ashwani Pande, CEO, VA Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, stated, “Inter Dairy Expo – along with parallel events like seminar, B2B meetings, CEO Conclave, etc. will enhance the understanding of industry trends and possible solutions to the challenges being faced by the Indian dairy industry. A dedicated start-up zone will provide an ideal platform for recent entrants providing solutions for manufacturing and brand building among potential investors and mentors.”
Concurrent to the B2B expo, Indian Dairy Association (West Zone) is organising a hi-level, 2-day Seminar on 'Global Market Opportunities for Indian Dairy' to explore how India can tap into global dairy markets with insights on production, exports, and regulatory trends to be addressed by industry veterans, academia and policy makers. The Inter Dairy Awards 2024 scheduled to be announced on December 05, 2024 shall honour remarkable achievements in innovation, excellence and entrepreneurship in dairy industry with particular focus on quality & safety control, processing technology, packaging innovation and sustainability.
Amongst the gamut of products and solutions that will be a part of this vital trade show are milk and milk products, dairy farming & farm equipment, veterinary solutions, processing and packaging equipment, automation & data processing, ingredients and additives, cold chain management, distribution and logistics, financial assistance institutions, high-precision labelling machines, dairy testing equipment, packaging solutions that ensure durability, efficiency, and product appeal, innovative methods for preserving dairy product quality and so on.
Presently, India is the world’s highest producer of milk contributing about 24 per cent of global milk production. Registering a growth of 6 per cent over the previous year, India’s milk production for 2023-24 touched a record high of 230.58 million metric tonne which is three times that of China. With current valuation of approximately $125 billion, Indian dairy market is pegged to grow at about 9 per cent annually to reach $230 billion by 2030 thanks to adoption of new technologies right from milk production to processing & packaging as also for improving productivity made possible by the Government of India's proactive support to the Indian dairy industry.
The evolution of the dairy sector in India and the stellar role played by dairy cooperatives since the launch of Operation Flood form an integral part of the country's remarkable growth story after Independence. Today, India is the largest producer of milk in the world, achieving an annual production of 221.06 million tonne during the year 2021-22 & contributing 23 per cent of global milk production.
The dairy sector assumes a great deal of significance for India on various accounts. As an industry, it employs more than 80 million rural households, with the majority being small and marginal farmers as well as the landless. The cooperative societies have not only made the farmers self-sufficient but have also broken the shackles of gender, caste, religion, and community. Women producers form the major workforce of the dairy sector in the country. The sector is an important job provider, especially for women, and plays a leading role in women's empowerment.
India is targeting to achieve liquid milk production capacity of 300 MMT by 2024-25. The Indian dairy industry is expected to touch $380 billion by 2028 from 182 billion in 2022, with a CAGR of 13.2 per cent during 2023-2028.
The per capita milk consumption increased from 307 gm/day in 2013-2014 to 444 gm/day in 2021-22. The Indian cheese market is expected to reach $1.5 billion, growing at a CAGR of 18.5 per cent between 2021 and 26. The yogurt market is expected to touch $6 billion, growing at a CAGR of 15 per cent between 2021 and 26. The ice cream market which was valued at 2.4 billion in 2022 is expected to grow at a CAGR of 17.5 per cent between 2023 and 28.
