Kaatil has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of Hot Honey No. 7, positioning itself as one of the first homegrown brands to introduce hot honey at scale in the Indian market.

Blending sweet and spicy — popularly known as the “swicy” flavour trend — the new product combines Indian multifloral honey with locally sourced Lavangi chillies. The launch marks a strategic shift for the brand as it moves beyond traditional hot sauces to tap into evolving consumer preferences for layered, globally trending flavour profiles.

Hot Honey No. 7 is designed as a versatile condiment suitable for both home kitchens and food service establishments. It can be used as a drizzle, glaze, marinade, dip or finishing sauce, complementing a range of dishes from pizzas and fried chicken to salads and desserts.

To commemorate the launch, the brand hosted a themed Pizza Rave in Mumbai, bringing together food bloggers, digital creators and community members for curated tasting sessions featuring the new product.

Commenting on the launch, Sagar Merchant, Founder of Kaatil, said, “Sweet-heat combinations are increasingly gaining traction among urban Indian consumers experimenting with fusion cuisine and home cooking. He noted that the product aims to strike a balance between natural sweetness and bold heat, catering to consumers seeking adventurous and layered taste experiences.”

Founded in 2023 by Sagar Merchant and Arjun Panwar, Kaatil has built a growing base of spice enthusiasts and established partnerships with several restaurants across India. Its portfolio currently includes hot sauces, chilli oils, hot ketchups, barbeque sauces and branded merchandise.

Hot Honey No. 7 is available across major e-commerce platforms, quick-commerce channels, retail outlets and the brand’s direct-to-consumer website.
