KOKO is set to strengthen its international bar collaboration programme with Bee’s Knees, the acclaimed cocktail bar from Kyoto, Japan, through an exclusive two-city takeover across its Hyderabad and Mumbai outlets. Led by founder and bartender Keisuke Yamamoto, popularly known as KSK, the collaboration will debut in Hyderabad on August 20 before moving to KOKO Goregaon in Mumbai on August 21.

Known for its intimate speakeasy setting, inventive cocktails and contemporary interpretation of Japanese bartending, Bee’s Knees has emerged as one of Asia’s recognised cocktail destinations. The bar was ranked No. 76 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 list, following rankings of No. 75 in 2024, No. 44 in 2023, No. 47 in 2022 and No. 18 in 2021. It first entered the list in 2020 as the Highest New Entry at No. 21.

The collaboration will bring Bee’s Knees’ signature cocktail programme to guests in both cities, with a menu created exclusively for the two takeover evenings. The selection includes the Killer Bee, featuring Bombay Sapphire, sansho pepper, lemon, truffle honey and yuzu Tabasco; the Umami Sea Mary, combining Grey Goose, chilli, katsuobushi, tomato water, hotate syrup and kombu solution; and the Spicy Bamboo Roll, made with green chilli-infused Patrón Reposado, Mangoyan liqueur, mango purée, tomato water, yellow bell pepper, lemon juice, passion fruit and agave.

The menu also features Bamboo Forest, made with Patrón Silver, white wine, basil, dill, sage, passion fruit, elderflower syrup and malic acid. Rounding out the selection is the Espresso ‘Kyo’tini, which combines hoji tea-infused Dewar’s 12 Y.O., chocolate rum, coffee liqueur, PX Sherry, vanilla syrup and espresso.

Keenan Tham, co-founder and managing director of Pebble Street Hospitality, said, “At KOKO, we're committed to creating collaborations that introduce our guests to some of the world's most exciting bar programmes. Every guest shift brings a different perspective on cocktail culture, and that's what keeps these experiences fresh and relevant. Bee’s Knees has built a distinctive identity through its thoughtful approach to flavour and Japanese bartending, and we're delighted to bring that to both Hyderabad and Mumbai.”
