Kyndal brings the Macallan experience closer to its fans in Mumbai

Kyndal Group has collaborated with the Dram Club and whisky guide Anand Chintamani to bring the Macallan closer to its fans in Mumbai. As part of the series, fans, whisky aficionados, select bartenders and representatives of the finest hotels and bars were invited for special evenings in Mumbai to experience some of the most popular and complex expressions - The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 15 Years Old, The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 12 years old and The Macallan Sherry Oak Cask 12 years old.
 
It is one of the most celebrated single malt whiskies globally and tagged as a collector’s choice- with a bottle of 60-year-old, fetching $1.9 Million in a 2019 auction. Its focus on quality sets it apart from others. It is the only whisky brand which has its own Master of Wood who sources 200,000-odd oak barrels from oak trees in the U.S. and Spain.
 
Each of the three expressions showcased present a perfect marriage of three distinct cask types - European and American sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex- oak casks.
 
Addressing the audiences digitally, Jodie Mariott, the Macallan’s Edrington Middle East, Africa and India’s Regional Brand Ambassador said, “I am delighted and happy to be a part of these special evenings and it is great share people’s passion for The Macallan and learn about their experiences. Mumbaiites love their whisky and are keen and eager to discover the heritage and history of their favourite whisky.”
 
She added, “As a brand, we are very excited about the lucrative future in store within India and Mumbai. We pride ourselves on quality and craftsmanship and see a huge potential for our brand here with organisations and individuals who want to share in bringing the Macallan experiential journey to life.”
 
The evenings started with anecdotes around the history and stories attached with the making of each expression. Each of the single malt reveals the unrivalled commitment to the mastery of wood and spirit and is an expression of the brand’s enduring desire to go beyond ordinary, to seek out the extraordinary, and create peerless single malts.
 
The company has recently launched some prestigious expressions like the Macallan No.6 and Reflexion.
 
Pushpanjali Banerji, brand director, Kyndal Group,said, “Indians love their whisky and with the increasing access to global markets look forward to a better and a richer experience. Kyndal has introduced a wide range of Macallan expressions to address this demand. The Macallan Triple Cask matured 15 years old and 12 years old form part of the Triple Cask matured range; a series of single malt whiskies crafted in a bourbon triple cask combination of European and American sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex-bourbon oak casks. This complex combination of oak casks make both the expressions extraordinarily smooth and exude delicate character, full of citrus fruits, vanilla and fresh oak.
 
The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 years old is matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity. Once filled, the maturing spirit remains undisturbed in the same casks for 12 years and is brought together in this rich and complex whisky characterised by spice and dried fruit and a natural rich golden colour.
