Licious has expanded its value-added product portfolio with the launch of Chicken Jhol Momos, a frozen packaged offering that brings the Himalayan-style jhol momo experience to consumers at home.

The launch comes amid the growing popularity of momos in India, with consumers increasingly exploring new flavours and formats. Jhol momo, known for combining steamed momos with a spicy and flavourful broth, has gained popularity across restaurant menus and among home chefs.

Chicken Jhol Momos combine Loaded Chicken Momos with a tangy, nutty and spicy jhol broth. The product is designed to offer a convenient, restaurant-style experience in a ready-to-cook format.

The six-piece pack can be prepared either by steaming or pan-cooking. The frozen momos can be steamed for four to six minutes or pan-cooked with a small amount of oil for around six minutes. The accompanying 90g jhol sachet can be prepared by heating it with one to two tablespoons of water for approximately two minutes before serving with the momos.

Tavleen Bhatia, business head – value added products, Licious, said, “The company has seen strong consumer response to its momo portfolio since its launch nine months ago. According to Bhatia, Licious’ chicken momo currently accounts for around 20% of the online packaged meat momo market.”

“Jhol Momo is our latest expression of that. We’ve taken our much-loved chicken momo and dunked it in a tangy, nutty, and spicy broth,” Bhatia said, adding that the company is focused on introducing new formats for consumers.
