L’inoui has now set up an outlet in Bengaluru to offer a variety of chocolates like truffles and pralines, Do It Yourself Hot Chocolate Dips, chocolate dragees and an assorted variety of Belgian dark chocolates, apart from pastries, cakes, croissants, cookies and macarons.
Anusha A Chowdaiah, founder L’inoui, said, “The outlet spans over 2,500 sq feet. The brand has been digital for over five years now and hence the new outlet opens up an experiential opportunity. The venture will be expanded to four other locations within the city by end-2025 and its focus is on authentic chocolate and the gourmet bakes.”
Given the dual incomes and the massive rise in community/apartment living, growth of industries in North Bengaluru, Jakkur was opted to set up the outlet and factory, which is strategically located to deliver the orders.
“We import ingredients native to countries like California Belgium, France, Holland, Italy, Switzerland etc and manufacture the chocolates & bakes at our Bengaluru factory. We plan to expand our outlets to four other locations in the city, taking the total to 5 by the end of 2025. These new locations will depend on consumer demand and operational costs. Our online facility will continue to deliver chocolates in Bengaluru and across India,” said Chowdaiah.
“On an average, Linoui sees over 75 percent repeat orders which means they trust our products. We adhere to a zero-adulteration policy, which results in using the best quality ingredients. So, Indian consumers get to savour the best of treats without having to worry about the quality aspect,” said Chowdaiah.
In India, Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru are the fastest growing chocolate markets. The company plans to enhance its share of dark chocolate, which has doubled in the country though the market in India is pre-dominantly milk-oriented.
“Most pastries in India try to appeal to the masses not via taste, but cost. Hence the entire L’inoui project was conceptualised with authentic ingredients. For instance, the butter is 100% dairy with no margarine or vegetable shortenings and that the whipping cream has no artificial flavours or sweeteners. Cocoa is sourced from Africa and South America, while the cream is from Italy, and the butter for croissants is from France. People need not import the European chocolates or purchase them at high cost at the airport or depend on relatives and friends to gift them, instead they can come to L’inoui to have a first-hand chocolate experience at the outlet,” concluded Chowdaiah.
