Marico Limited has strengthened its role as an implementation partner for the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India’s (FSSAI) flagship ‘Eat Right India’ programme, reaching over 42 lakh individuals in FY26. Through 119 targeted interventions across Punjab, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Assam, and Delhi, it continues to drive large-scale impact in advancing food safety, hygiene, and nutrition outcomes.

Anchored in the philosophy of ‘Sahi Bhojan. Behtar Jeevan’ (Right Food. Better Life), it has been instrumental in translating FSSAI’s Eat Right vision into action on the ground. By enabling behaviour change and strengthening food safety ecosystems across public and community spaces, the programme reinforces its long-standing commitment to improving public health at scale.

Adopting a comprehensive, ecosystem-led approach, it has implemented interventions across key consumption touchpoints, where people eat, learn, and gather. In collaboration with FSSAI, state FDAs, and empanelled training and auditing partners, the programme has supported the certification of 46 railway stations, 24 campuses, 12 clean street food hubs, 10 places of worship, and 7 schools. Additionally, 20 capacity-building sessions have been conducted for students, women, self-help groups, and local communities. These initiatives are underpinned by structured training, rigorous audits, and certification processes aligned with FSSAI standards to ensure sustained improvements in food safety and hygiene practices.

Amit Bhasin, chief legal officer & group counsel and secretary, CSR committee, Marico Limited, said, “At Marico, we are proud to play an active role as an implementation partner in advancing FSSAI’s ‘Eat Right India’ movement. We believe that improving access to safe, nutritious, and responsibly produced food is fundamental to building healthier communities. Through this programme, we are working across institutions and public ecosystems pan India to strengthen food hygiene standards, enhance nutrition awareness, and enable persistent behavioural change at scale.”
